I think i've seen Miguel a few time before, sitting in that same spot, a bit unsual if you ask me, he was sitting very close to the street in one of the outlets you can find in the main plaza to plug your laptop. He was writing in a book when i approached. Miguel is a cartoonist, he mostly does cartoons and portraits of tourists in Cholula every weekend. Here comes the interesting part of his story, the book he was writing on, is a book that is part of an enlgish course. I asked if he was taking classes, he said no, even tough, he has a sister that teaches english, he's autodidact, which is really great. He shared some before and after stories of learning english and how learning another language has helped to get more clients. Without asking he started to speak in english, he might not have a good pronunciation (i don't see this as a bad thing, i have a bad pronunciation too), but you can understand him which is important. He has a good vocabulary, in fact he has a better vocabulary than I. He's aware of his limitations and therefore he speaks in english every time he has the chance to improve. We talked for a while and i forgot that the daylight saving time ended last weekend, i ran out of light and i'm not very pleased with the photo, way too much noise. This is the only thing about my camera that gets me mad, it just can't deal with low light situations. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Creo que a Miguel ya lo había visto unas cuantas veces antes, igual sentado en el mismo lugar, poco usual diría yo, estaba en una de las tomas de corriente que pusieron en el zócalo para que la gente conectara sus laptops y muy cerca de la calle. Miguel estaba escribiendo en un libro cuando me acerqué. Miguel es un dibujante, principalmente se dedica a hacer caricaturas y retratos de turistas en Cholula los fines de semana. Aquí viene lo intersante de su historia, el libro en el que estaba escribiendo es un libro que es parte de un curso inglés. Le pregunté si tomaba clases, me dijo que no, a pesar de que tiene una hermana que da clases de inglés, él es autodidacta, algo muy bueno creo yo. Me compartió algunas historias de antes y después de que hablará ingles y cómo aprender otro idioma lo ha ayudado a conseguir más clientes. Sin que yo se lo pidiera empezó a hablar en inglés, puede no tener la mejor pronunciación (no lo veo como algo malo, yo también tengo mala pronunciación), pero se le entiende que es lo importante.Tiene un buen vocabulario, de hecho tiene mejor vocabulario que yo. Está conciente de sus limitantes y por ello procura hablar inglés cada que puede para mejorar. Hablamos por un buen rato y se me olvidó que el horario de verano ya había terminado el fin de semana pasado, me quedé sin luz y no estoy muy contento con la foto, demasiado ruido.
