The orange Fuente del Paseo Bravo (Fuente de Motolinia) in Puebla de Zaragoza's Parque Paseo Bravo. The fountain was constructed in 1921 to commemorate the centennial of Mexicos independence. The Motolinía Fountain was built in honour of Toribio de Benavente, founder of the city of Puebla and known among the indigenous people as Motolinía. The fountain has four stone columns, each with carved archangels framing the fountain. In the center, a white finish features two Franciscans holding a scroll in front of several Indigenous people carrying a cross. The image frame is held by two lions touching a globe with their paws. An eagle with a snake in its beak and the Spanish crown on the other side converge to represent Indigenous, Spanish, and Creole roots. The work is the creation of quarryman Jesús Corro Soriano, The fountain compliments the 1987 Puebla de Zaragoza UNESCO World Heritage Site designation.
