The facade of permanently closed hotel in Edificio Baramar at 141 Reforma. 1 of 2. One of the oldest buildings in Puebla's Historic Center, the Baramar building stands out for its neo-Moorish and Mudejar architecture. The exact year of its construction is unknown but in 1941 Baraquiel Martínez León commissioned Mudéjar-style materials from Eduardo Tamariz Almendaro be added to the facade. The battlements that crown the building and the trilobed arches of the balconies and as the small tiles that highlight its Moorish heritage are noteworthy. For several years, this location operated as a small hotel called Hotel Provincia Express. However, after the pandemic, it closed its doors permanently, and there are no plans for the building to reopen in any capacity anytime soon.
