Many Puebla buildings are finished in the Talavera tile the city is known for. Iglesia de San Marcos Evangelista is another Puebla church with its striking Baroque facade. The facade consists of red Poblano bricks and nine Talavera panels representing the Four Evangelists – Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John – along with St. Joseph, the Immaculate Virgin Mary, and the three Archangels – St. Michael, St. Raphael, and St. Gabriel.
