The tradition of the Huehues dance (which means old men) goes back to dances dedicated to old God, the God of fire and the God of year, called "Huehueteotl". In the 19th century, when was the French invasion, the troops were playing and dancing in their break. Nevertheless the Mexican people decided to imitate them in order to ridicule them, without knowing that they were introducing a cultural mark in their music and dance. In religious terms the "huehues" represent the pursuit of Christ and in pagan terms are the diversion, happiness, music before the Lent.
